The EP602 Shark Transformer vacuum cleaner is a bag less stick vac manufactured by Euro Pro. Being a stick vac, it can also be converted to a handheld unit, hence the name “Transformer.”

Question is, would you buy the Transformer?

It is a matter of long-established fact that before you decide to buy anything, you would have to do detailed research in order to make an informed decision and not something that is a result of beefed-up marketing. You have to recognize the fact that marketing is aimed at emulating items strong points, and leave out the negative points.

Unfortunately, the negatives can only be discovered after purchase. Some sellers allow purchases to be returned, but there are some times that one may be unable to return the item for replacement or repair.

So, before you decide whether or not you would like to  buy a Shark Transformer vacuum cleaner, you would need to know what its crucial features are and what feedback is given from consumers who have bought it ahead of you.

Features of the EP602 Shark Transformer Vacuum

The EP602 produces a suction power of 1200-watts, through a cyclonic action. This power is reportedly 1.5 times greater than that outputted by a full vacuum cleaner.

The EP602 is bag less, and uses a dust cup to store vacuumed dust that has been filtered through a True HEPA filter system to weed out small and unseen microorganisms like allergens and irritants and prevent them from being blown back into the air through the exhaust. The dust cup is reusable.

The dust cup empties from the bottom, so it isn’t messy for your part to do the task. The HEPA filter does not last a lifetime. It needs to be periodically replaced, and a few replacement filters are included with the initial purchase although this depends on the seller.

The EP602 Shark Transformer vacuum is a “suction-only” cleaner. It uses only the power of its 1200-watt suction to weed out dirt, making it ideal for cleaning bare floors as well as carpets in a path as wide as 11 inches. It has a turbo-brush that is driven only by the air that the EP602 sucks in, and not motor-powered.

The Transformer is convertible from a stick vacuum, to a handheld.

The EP602 is equipped with an Intelli-sense filter monitor that watches the filter’s capacity. The motor will automatically shut down if the monitor senses the filter has become too full, in order to prevent the motor from overheating.

The Shark transformer vacuum is also easy to store, because its tube or handle can be telescoped to save storage space.

What Users Say about the EP602

The EP602 has garnered a majority of negative reviews in Amazon.com. Out of 71 people, 29 people gave it a 1-star rating, with 10 and 15 people giving it a 5-star and 4-star rating, respectively.

What most buyers complain about is the rapid rate which the machine overheats. In one case, a user was only able to use it for 5 minutes before it overheated and shut down. For someone who has serious cleaning to do, this could be irritating and also frustrating.

On a positive note, one review noted the EP602 Shark Transformer vacuum cleaner’s performance on bare floors. However, it also found that the absence of a beater brush attachment makes the EP602 ineffective on carpets.
