Various Different Central Vacuum Parts

Central vacuum cleaners are amazing systems. They can provide you with the convenience of having to carry only a hose unit and plugging it into a wall inlet in order to clean the house. However, these cleaners, like all machines, have parts that are not designed to be immortal. Sooner or later, one or two central vacuum parts would have to be changed in order to keep the machine running in optimal performance.

First, though, you would need to know what parts there are in your central vacuum system so that you would know what to look for in the event that you’d need to buy replacement parts.

This article provides information on the most important parts of your central vacuum cleaners. The parts discussed here are also the parts that are common in all cleaners irregardless of brand or manufacturer.

The Different Parts of a Central Vacuum System

1. Motor Units. The motor unit is part of the central or main unit which carries the filters and the dust bins or vacuum bags. It is the central vacuum motor unit that provides the airflow needed to produce suction for your central vacuum cleaner.

There are two kinds of motors: the double motor, and the single motor. In some brands, they may be referred to as dual and single motor systems.

2. Central Vacuum Hose. Central vacuum hoses are what you use in order to vacuum the dirt out of your floors and carpets. They are plugged into the inlet valves. In some models they may be used to turn the system on or off. The hoses used in these central vacuum cleaners can have a handle that has buttons as power switches, while other models may only be plugged in order for the system to power on.

3. Powered Brush. Brushes are used even in central vacuum cleaners in order to clean out dirt and dust that have been deeply embedded in carpets and sometimes tiles. In central vacuum systems, the brushes are either powered by the vacuum’s air flow or carry their own power. Sometimes they are powered through the vacuum cleaner’s main unit itself using the hose as conduit.

4. Muffler. The muffler is an essential central vacuum part, because it is responsible for reducing motor noises so that the vacuum cleaner runs quietly and not noisily.

5. Inlet Valves. The inlet valves are the central vacuum cleaner’s connection to the outside world. It is where the hose connects, and through which the dust is sucked to the pipes and into the main unit’s dust bin.

Where to Buy Central Vacuum Parts

Central vacuum parts can be bought in any dealer, whether offline or online. Some online dealers are even middlemen, which act to connect you to actual dealers within your area from which you could purchase central vacuum parts.

To find central vacuum parts online, simply go to your preferred browser and strike up a search using the keywords “central vacuum parts.” You will get results of links pointing to sites that sell parts for your central vacuum system. There are virtually hundreds, perhaps thousands, of sites out there that sell the parts you need

You would also find that the manufacturer of your cleaner also sells replacement parts. This is because some models do not accept replacements that are not manufactured by the brand name owner or its licensed manufacturers. Buying these parts from the manufacturer also gives you a guarantee on its quality and also the availability of customer support.

Take note, though, there are models that accept generic parts, or those parts that are made to fit any cleaner whatever their model or brand may be.
