Powered by a 12-ampere vacuum motor, the U5175-900 is capable of vacuuming 100% of dust mites and 99% of microorganisms from your carpets. It has a headlight installed in order for you to see patches in your carpets in an effort to facilitate thorough cleaning.

The U5175-900 contributes to a cleaner air in your house by trapping dust mites and allergens inside it so you they could not bother you again. These critters are filtered and dumped into an E-Z Empty dirt cup, which can be easily detached from the vacuum body.

The U5175-900 has a 24-feet long power cord and accessories that include an extension wand, dusting brush and upholstery nozzle, among others.

Like the U5175-900, the U5172-900 and U5171-900 have 12-ampere motors and cleaning paths of 15 inches. Both have handles that can be positioned upright, at 45 degrees and completely horizontal. You can fold the handle 45 degrees if it makes you feel comfortable when vacuuming, or go completely horizontal so you could push the cleaner under your furniture.

Both Hoover fold-away vacuums have three on-board tools stored below the handle. The U5172-900 has a hose that extends its reach to three times its original length, as well as an extension wand for areas that are as high as your ceiling.

User Feedback for Hoover Fold-Away Vacuums

The U5175-900 is very effective at vacuuming dirt and dust from carpets, and helps make it look good as new.  You may want to try another Hoover vacuums if you prefer for hard floors although some users love this model for this purpose as well.

Some individuals feel The U5172-900 has some minor problems but nothing major in comparison to its abilities.

The U5171-900 seems to be having trouble handing pet hair, and in one case the filter gets full of vacuumed dirt so easily that the user had to clean it every few minutes while in the process of vacuuming. Its dust cup also gets full so easily, requiring emptying faster than most users would prefer.
