The MBV2030 is an improvement over the original Broom Vac design by Dirt Devil. It packs more than half of what its predecessor carries. Because of this it is capable of being used for everyday cleaning as well as for quick pick ups of small pieces of dirt like dust bunnies, bread crumbs and many others. It can even be used to clean up spills that have dried on hard surfaces, including wood, linoleum, marble and tile.

The MBV2030 is both an electric broom and a vacuum cleaner at the same time. Because of this, there is no need to use a dustpan while using the cordless cleaner. The cleaner itself is the dustpan, because after sweeping dirt, it then vacuums them using its 10-inch nozzle and into a removable dirt cup.

Designed with your convenience in mind, Dirt Devil has spared you the requirement of having to buy replacement bags for your vacuum cleaner. Instead, with its removable dirt cup, you only need to continually empty and clean the dust container. Emptying is also surprisingly easy to do. You only have to press a button to remove the bottom. After that, the bottom snaps back on to the handle.

With its light weight-the MBV2030 weighs only 3.6 pounds-the cleaner can be used and carried anywhere, and can be used anytime provided the battery is fully charged.

This cordless broom/vac uses a standard filtration system, as opposed to the high efficiency filters found in Dirt Devil’s full-sized vacuum cleaners, to grab dirt and dust particles that it has vacuumed. The filter is replaceable, though, and not life-time as opposed to most other Dirt Devil cleaners.

This Dirt Devil cordless uses a rechargeable battery to power its 9.6-voltage motor. Because of this, you don’t have to contend with the hassle of watching out for and warning children not to run around for they might trip on the power cord. You only need to simply connect it to its adaptor and plug it into an outlet to recharge after use.

The MBV2030 is capable of brushed edge cleaning. When you receive the Dirt Devil cordless broom cum vacuum cleaner, you would be required to make assemblies to get the unit ready for use. However, the assembly is simple and does not require special tools that you would have to learn to use in order to put the unit together.

The MBV2030 comes in an impressive array of 12 colors for its finish: butter yellow, citron green, sea breeze, black, blue, green, pink, plum, red, silver, white and plain yellow.

There have been conflicting user feedbacks regarding the power of the MBV2030’s suction. Some users of Amazon (www.amazon.com) have said that the Dirt Devil cordless has given suction good enough to suck dust bunnies, crumbs and hair balls left behind by children and pets, others have complained that it is ineffective for them. Sometimes, its opening also gets clogged by dog hair.

Nevertheless, the MBV2030’s battery has proven capable of cleaning at least 1500 square feet and at most twice of that area on a full charge. Users, however, should not expect to use this as a substitute for a full-size, corded upright vacuum cleaner.

The MBV2030 Dirt Devil cordless vacuum cleaner has been judged by some users as the ideal cleaner for cleaning light debris, and for those that are left behind by toddlers and pets.
